Ontario Black Bear Hunting , watch 3 bears harvested on film, a 3 legged bear

Abhishek Agarwal asked:

So a bear is to be your target during the next hunting season? Well, are you actually ready to take on this task without being properly prepared for it? You would be well advised to browse through books or websites on the Internet for information on bear hunting, before starting on your trip!

According to books which are devoted to bears and bear hunts, the experience itself is both, invigorating and delightful–stalking the bear causes a sense of exhilaration and bringing it down causes delight!

Another wonderful source of information about bear hunting is the World Web. There are some web sites that are created by the government. And there are web sites set up by individuals, hunting clubs, outfitters, etc. You can seek the answers to all your questions on any of these sites.

Some web sites are dedicated to the untutored hunter. They give information about anything and everything connected to bear hunting–the type of weapons you should have, hunting supplies and protective gear. You are expected to obtain a license/permit to carry firearms, as well as go through certain procedures to obtain the weapons of your choice. Where weapons are concerned, you are given advice regarding–locations to obtain your firearms, when to go shopping, how to explain why you want those weapons, and finally pick up what suits your style. This elaborate process is meant to be in your interest and the public interest.

Additional information provided by various web sites concerned with bear hunting–among the different kinds of bear, which one is most in demand? Who among them is extremely aggressive? Where are the places where different bears can be found?

When describing a particular bear, the web site also tells you the exact location, the type of surroundings where it dwells, and probably even give guidance about its body language.

What is an outfitter web site? This site offers package deals. They oblige with complete information about what they can provide–Which is the area allocated for the hunting trip, expenses for the trip plus the guide who will be taking you there, and the paraphernalia you need to carry (firearms, ammunition, additional hunting supplies).

Lastly, official information can be obtained from government web sites. Here, you get to know about the exact season meant for bear hunting, hunting permits and licenses, how many bears per hunter, etc. You have the facility of applying for your hunting permit onine.

Another important thing that is mentioned is the type of protective clothing to be worn for bear hunting. This is an official rule applicable even when hunting other animals.

what are your thoughts on bear hunting?? Cruel?? or Cool??
I think it is horrible and mean and should stop now!!!!

For those lucky enough to draw an elk tag, anticipation consumes the hunter until opening day. In the mean time, a hunter should spend as much time as he can brushing up on all things elk. An intimate understanding of the creature will only serve to create a memorable experience while out in the field. From hunting equipment, to guide services, to studying elk behavior, the hunter needs to be prepared when hunting season finally arrives.

There are many avenues for the hunter to learn more about the creature he’s going to be seeking. There are hundreds of websites dedicated to elk and elk hunting available on the internet. Magazines and TV shows are also a great resource; many of the hosts on the TV shows have a lot of experience with elk and often enlist the help of experts to teach the viewer even more. Watching a TV show will provide the hunter with more information in an hour’s time, than he could ever learn on his own. The TV show will also allow the hunter to see visuals of not only the creature, but the type of landscape the hunt will be taking place in.

The second thing a hunter needs to be concerned about is finding a quality guide service to take him on his elk hunt. There are hundreds available, and narrowing down the selection won’t take as long if the hunter knows what he wants. A guide will prove an invaluable resource on the hunting trip; these people spend their lives studying and tracking the animal you’re after. Upon finding a guide service, it’s important to ask them what they supply. Many provide food and lodging, and if they don’t, they’ll be able to give recommendations. One of the first things a service will stress is the importance of warm clothing. Elk season takes place during the cool temperatures of fall; it isn’t uncommon for the temperature to fall to 20 or 30 degrees Fahrenheit. Be sure to find clothing that will keep you both warm and dry, and camouflaged is always a plus. Wool items are always a good bet for warmth, as is Gore-Tex for moisture protection. It’s also a good idea to layer clothing, that way a hunter can put on or take off clothing as he needs it throughout the day. Other things to consider are scent-free toiletries, snacks, and good binoculars.

Another thing you will learn on your elk hunting excursion is the art of bugling elk. It’s a smart idea to be somewhat familiar with this process, and many avid hunters practice the bugling technique for a hobby in the off-season. While it need not be mastered, it is important to use it the right way; a bad call will drive the elk away, not lure them in. Elk calls can be very specific, but overall the call is meant to mimic a mate, either bull or cow. While a hunter cannot possibly learn everything before his big hunt, the more he knows the more interesting and memorable the hunt will be.

I am considering taking a trip from Florida to Georgia for a black bear hunt using this outfitter: http://www.angelfire.com/tn/farner/bear.html

But the thing is I am on a tight budget, do you think 2 days would be enough to bag a black bear from a stand? Or do I need to hunt more days? The way they hunt is still hunt using burn sticks and sow bear urine as an attractant.

Thanks.
