In my exprience, most bear hunters using dogs-not all-treat them very badly. Also, such hunters often have paying clients, and will tell them to shoot the first bear the dogs tree-which usually is a small bear, or sometimes a mother with cubs, or even a half-grown cub. The big bears usually will not climb a tree, but will stand and fight, in many instances killing ormaiming most of the pack of dogs. This is not, in my opinion, the way to hunt a bear-or to treat a dog!
