i dont understand why everybody is bitching about where the guy shot the deer. it was doe management and they needed to go and obviously she wasnt a trophy buck or anything and she was small either way they managed the deer population. its not a big deal where the deer gets shot as long as it dies

im gonna have to agree with genericxanex about the head shots the way i learned to hunt is shoot behind the shoulder about a third of the way down. i only use headshots if i shoot a deer and track it down and it starts runnin again

If he blew a deers jaw off it would die in minutes.The good thing about head shots is you dont waste any meat.

In a lot of slaughterhouses they use a headshot because its quick and “relatively” painless. thats why you learn to shoot better. a good marksman always hits his mark every time.
Ive seen marksmen in the cape (australia) shooting water buffalo from a chopper. one round every second or so, every single shot either a head, heart or neck shot.

I guess what im trying to say is, dont say headshots are stupid. Headshots only become stupid when they are done by stupid, poorly trained hunters.

Who cares about the camo. Head shots are stupid. It’s too easy to miss their brain as its not very big. Then you have a wounded deer with a shot off jaw.

Yes, quiet clothes is part of it, but not mostly like you stated. In nature there are no perfectly straight lines, which is where camo comes into play. It breaks up the normal patterns of clothing (i.e. plaid patterns, zippers, etc.). Deer look for anything that stands out from the normal organic shapes in nature, which is also why they offer camo for your gun, to help it blend in with your surroundings with not only color, but also an illusion of a different shape.

A.) it depends on the individual state laws, like in mine it’s 10 ft., and you can’t shoot across it. B.) That’s not a road, it’s a strawberry field, what you thought was a road is just where the tractor goes through, it’s not an “established road” which is what the law refers to.
