I was about to edit my question when you replied. Sure enough I got my second bird (limit) this morning. 11″ beard.

Got in the woods at 5:45, heard 5-6 gobblers and 2-3 hens. I was surrounded. Sure enough this bird was the one!

Now I get to call for a few of my friends…. even more rewarding than shooting them myself.

There are two things that make good video …
1) Good video
2) Good audio
You need both … so I suggest a tripod and an offset mic that you can put away from you so you don’t have camera noise and all your movement noise.

Other than that … let it ride and just try to tell the story … best of luck to you … hope this helps.

Give me a few tips for having somebody video my hunts. A buddy wants to come with me to tape it, but I don’t know anything about taping a hunt. I assume the camera will be covered with camo somehow. Do you use a tripod? If not, how do you get the zoom shots so steady? Any other tips appreciated.

Hunt them like a whitetail … get in between where they are, and where they are going. Or … if there are that many toms, try a jake or gobbler decoy … that may pull them in because of the competition … best of luck … hope this helps … also … try calling less … sometimes the hens will drag the gobblers away from competing hens … good luck.

ive been huntin all week ive seen about 10 gobblers and hens a day. but they wont get close enough but i got a decoy. ne advise?
