@mastermike751- You cannot buy most night vision scopes directly from the manufacturer. You must purchase them from their dealers. Most dealers are California salesmen who have never used their products for coyote or hog control purposes. JAGER PRO employs only retired Soldiers who used night vision and thermal devices in combat and now harvests 1000 hogs annually in Georgia. Go to our website and look at the D-740-3A (4X) or D-760-3A (6X) with the 800 meter IR illuminator. This is all you need.

@mastermike751- Please don’t waste your money on any night vision device under $1,000. We only recommend our Generation 3, 4X or 6X night vision scope with an 800 meter IR illuminator as an accessory. These scopes have an ITT image intensifier tube with 64 line pairs per millimeter of resolution providing a Figure of Merit (FOM) above 1600 and a Signal to Noise Ratio above 25. Only this caliber of ITT tube will give you the necessary performance to kill hogs and coyotes in open terrain at night.

1) No, killing the lead hog does not change the rest of the groups direction. When a group of hogs enter a field, they associate where they just came from as safe. When they encounter shooting, they associate the new area as unsafe. Hogs normally exit a field from the same direction they entered. The shots echo across the field and hogs cannot pinpoint your location.
2) All of the harvested pork is either processed by our guest hunters or donated to local families and churches.

@1shootingusa- We are using a new thermal scope which will be available to the public in SEP/OCT 2010. Our AR-10 rifles are DPMS Panther Arms LR-308L in .308 caliber shooting Federal Premium 180 grain Nosler Partition bullets.

ty, for posting your pest control videos for wild pigs. I live in St. Louis Missouri and am trying to work toward outfitting a .303 brit’ rifle for Hog hunting; ‘lol’ if you want, yet i dont have the funds to invest into a thermal scope and high end rifle.
Well i’m looking for a place to hunt, i hope you dont mind if i ask you some questions:
1) if you target the lead pig after the first volley, can you misdirect the run for cover?
2) what do you do w/ all the carcasses when your done?

just curious. what kind of night vision scope are you using?? and what caliber/ammo..

@sclerocarpets- A subsonic bullet is usually travelling under 1,000 feet per second (fps) vs. a factory load at 2600 fps. Subsonic bullets cause more bullet drop, reduces your “knock-down” power, increases your lead on moving targets and will not cycle a semi-automatic rifle. There is absolutely NO advantage to shooting a subsonic bullet through a suppressor with a single shot or lever action rifle if your goal is high volume hog control. Factory ammo and semi-auto always produce better results.

@sclerocarpets- Hogs from the same sounder group rarely spread out 100 meters. Your “suppressor” success depends on how much hunting pressure the hogs have experienced at night. You might be successful the first time but any survivors will learn from the experience and adapt. Just watch a few videos from NightHogs’ Channel. They are shooting a suppressed rifle with a subsonic bullet and rarely kill more than one. We always kill multiples. Our method is more effective for hog control purposes.

@sclerocarpets- Hunting hogs in Georgia with suppressors is not legal via the hunting regulation. Our staff has tested suppressors on feral hogs and it does NOT give the hunter any advantage. The hogs still run out of the field when a subsonic bullet impacts another hog. They won’t just stand there and let you shoot the entire group with a suppressor. They are very intelligent. Subsonic bullets shot through a suppressor are too slow to be effective and will not cycle a semi-automatic rifle.

Why not get a rifle that’s compatible with a silencer
