I had to look up the specs on the Dragunov but it certainly would if hit in the right place. A body shot even with a large caliber is no guarantee that the hog is going to be DRT, but it certainly does help. I don’t know what ammunition is available in 7.62X54 but full metal jackets are not advisable in any caliber.

Would a Dragunov Sniper Rifle drop one of these things with a body shot?

It is an infrared illuminator which is only visible through night vision. We have used a spotlight with an infrared filter and it worked very well. It was heavy and bulky to carry around and our infrared illuminators are a little smaller than a AA maglite. The extra range for so much more bulk was not worth the trade-off for us.

can I ask what kind of light you’re lighting them up with at 2.09? mainly does it have a filter?

Rifle or pistol? It took me a while to find information on the round and I am still in the dark in so far as to what I’m looking for. Where can I find velocities for the 500 gr. loads? Case capacity looks to be about right for subsonic loads, but hogden nor speer list the round. It looks to be a more lethal round for silent kills if only there was a bolt action platform available.

I removed the comment you have responded to but have left yours purposefully because you are right on point. Some people do not know what it is like to work hard to make a crop only to have it destroyed by an animal that is not indigenous to the environment and knows no bounds when it comes to destruction of property. Once we take an animal we process all meat to be used by ourselves or people in need.

i love those people that think they are so smart becasue they want to save these animals. when they are the one that dont know **** because these animals do millions of dollars in crop damage. if you watch the discovery special it will show you peta motherfuckers the problem that we have on our hands. they take out your vegtables that you love so much. so quit eating veggies and theres no reason to kill them.
