Great stuff, what ever way you can, I love the shooting bit but they seem to run off at the first shot. I think trapping all sorts of things from sparrows to the larger animals will take over one day. Keep up the good work!

Traps are a perfect compliment to night vision hog hunting. Traps are most effective on younger hogs and we have caught as many as 14 in one eight foot diameter trap. Smart old hogs have figured out what traps are and they become nearly impossible to trap. That is where the night vision hunting should come in to take out these old wary hogs. Effective hog control must be a multifaceted approach as no one technique works perfectly.

I think traps will be the go. An enclosure where they can get in but can get out, like a circle of mesh fence around a water hole or feed etc, with a push past type of entrance which cant be opened from the inside, then shoot them.

I believe that was the exact discussion before the shot. However, we decided not to as we had already killed one hog and didn’t want to clean more than two. This was not one of our guided hunts as they have no limits on the number of hogs taken.

This is awesome…BUT, you could have taken out a few instead if you aimed for a pass through…

@NightHogsDotcom Well said. Most people who bash about Hog hunting are extremely uninformed .

I am responding to a post from someone who was obviously offended by our video. Before criticizing, do a little homework as to the damage these creatures do to crops. If you still feel an urge to stop efforts to control these animals, feel free to write a check to every farmer whose crop is lost to feral hogs (about $50,000,000 annually in Texas alone). If you are willing to pay for the damage, I’m sure the farmers/ranchers will stop resorting to these means of control. Thank you.
