Those geese have very visibly hunted extensively. You can tell by their body language that there were nervous about coming right in to the decoys. This could be a factor which contributes to the lack of close range geese. I agree with the comments, in that if they aint in range, dont shoot for the sake of it, you risk injuring the birds instead of a clean kill

i guess the main purpose of hunting is to shoot them the closest possible. If you can’t bring them close just don’t shoot because you haven’t fool them.

Work them in closer boys.

k i heard rougly 25 shots and saw only 4 birds go down. hmmmmmm

We have passed up numerous shots that we could have taken because we thought they would make one more pass that was closer. In my opinion, if hunters would let the bird work and get in really close, your bag would be bigger… Does anyone agree or want to add anything to what I said? haha

It means that you shoot at birds that are way out of range, or just out of range period. Not to offend anyone, but the people who sky bust ((meaning they shoot at ducks that are 60+ yards)) are usually the people who just are to anxious and don’t have the patience to let them work, or they just **** to see a duck leave w/o gettin shot at. lol. As for me and the men i hunt with who have hunted for many years, no matter how late the season, we try to let them work right in our faces.

I really agree with what he says at the end. The more you let them work, the higher your numbers will be. I have yet to understand why people skybust. I can see how it might happen occasionally, but to always shoot like that, I don’t know.
