Southeast Michigan hunt on 11-4-2009. Sat in the stand from 10:30am until Dark. Was hoping for some heavy rut action but didn’t get much. Was able to use my new camera mount and filmed deer while in a treestand for the first time.
@outdoorsmi, Yes, I’ll find a few times to get out there. I know a farmer that likes me to whack a doe off his land every year, so I’ll prolly head out there next weekend. I gotta get a deer early because I’m gonna be real busy with school and work this fall….

@mecostacounty Every year I say I won’t but end up getting out there once or twice. If I do I will hunt field edges with muzzleloader and try to pick off a Doe coming out to feed in the bean fields at dusk. I will not disturb the woods or any of my stands during the EAS. You?

@outdoorsmi, I love late season in the snow, my favorite time to get out there. Are you gona partcipate in the early doe season next weekend?

@mecostacounty Thanks. That was a productive stand for me last year. I took a Doe on the opening day of archery season. Took a 7 point Buck in mid October with my Bow. Then an 8 point in late December with my muzzleloader.

I live in West Branch, MI and know for a fact around here the deer have not started rut as of yesterday.

Nice video…I am hunting Southern MI too. I am having bucks chasing does all over the place.
