Our opening day in Clearfield didnt allow doe hunting for the first week so the few deer we did see were extremely calm for the first day.

Freakin sun!!! I’ll tell ya, every year it seems the weather get worse for opening day of deer season. It’s either too warm, sunny or raining…. Still gotta be in the woods though!!!

Looks like you’ve got a good spot to hunt (with the exception of the buck to doe ratio haha). Here in VT I may see only see 30 or 35 deer from October bow season through the end of muzzleloader in December. The only bucks I’ve seen this year were spikes.

@Leatherwoodoutdoors Thanks for setting me straight. I do know the book well. I read it from front to back during bear season. I was at camp but not able to hunt. There was a lot of confusion at camp on several subjects. So I took the book and read it. Good to hear you don’t shoot spikes. I know of a spike that turned out to be a very nice 120 class 8 point. Which is a nice deer for lycoming county.

consider yourself lucky to be able to see that many deer in pa dureing rifle season.lol i will be lucky to see half that many deer all year on public land here . i hope to get a shot at one this saterday. we drove all day last saterday but not one of us got a shot off and there was 8 of us out. you can be successfull if your willing to work for it. its not easy in pa !

Agreed 1st day for PA was great weather. I got a nice doe but the second day i didnt even bother goin out. Check out my vid.

@srgslaughterav Only juniors, military and disabled hunters can shoot spikes, not seniors.

Love your videos. Wish you the best of luck! I hunt PA state games lands and dont see nearly the number of deer you see. There are so many hunters that it sounds like Viet Nam sometimes…gotta run and gun here or you will walk away with nothing everytime.
