@deerhuntingzach either one is good. There really isnt such a thing as a brush gun or field gun. unless you plan to shoot over 250 yards all the time, I would go with the 270.. If not just stay with the 243. Thats what I used when I first started hunting and I killed deer at 250 yards. The reason I got a 7mm mag was because I went caribou hunting and I needed something for bigger game and I just use it for deer since i havent used it much. the 243 is a good gun.

i hunt in western pa in a field i have a bolt action 243 and i could get a 270 what would be better for brush and field hunting.

i live and hunt in 2b and our rifle season goes till late january.

I wish California’s liberal anti gun/hunting laws were not so strict

John, I thought it was a coincidence that I was seeing deer that looked alot like the ones you are seeing. I am hunting Porter Twp off Rt 66 in Clarion County. Am I nuts or are we seeing the same deer?

@hunterknapp16 even if it would have stopped it was to thick to take a shot. I am hoping to see it again saturday morning. Saw tracks up there yesterday and today. There are 2 running together.

Barking at them works well to for a quick stop for a quick shot. Man, I love your guys vids!!
