@Snoep76239 The hound dog was just a loose dog that joined the hunt. Normally we’ll have 3 bay dogs (black mouth curs and catahoulas) and 2 catch dogs (pit bulls). The hog squealing is really loud.

Question for ya guys.. I noticed one of the dogs was a hound among the pit-bull types. Do you use a specific ratio of tracking/bay dogs to catch dogs? Or is it just “bring what ya got”? The pit bull dogs were originally bred in the 1800s to hold bulls so the butcher could kill them, so they’re naturals at hoggin’. Oh, just how loud are the darn pig squeals? Even from a distance they nearly blew out my speakers. Is it painfully (literally) loud in person? That would be at least 120db!

No gun, just dogs and a K-Bar. Now THAT’S hunting…

@WildHogHunters Its understandable. Ya gotta git ridda them bastards, they are a problem.

@NoPartyAffilliation It depends on the time of year, how far we are from the truck, how accessible the area we are is. You have to remember, we are out there getting rid of hogs for people because they’re doing damage to their property. We’ll eat what we can, give away what we can but some times it’s just not practical to drag them out so we just leave them laying.

What do you all normally do with the hogs after you kill them? How many are processed? Just curious, I never hunted feral hogs before.

@SuperHANDY24 Yeah, that wasn’t actually our dog. It just kind of showed up to help out when it heard all of the commotion.

Looked like yall had a walker dog with ya too….
