the noobs defending their quail hunting

One of my proudest moments in my life was when I was 12 and went into the suburban swamp with a pellet gun and got a California Quail, and had it for dinner.

I think **** had a 28 gauge shotgun, which has very little recoil, but makes it difficult to hit anything.

@coleyman1 I reversed my birds! Quail are hunted by “flushing” the birds out of a grassy field or brush. Doves are “fly by” hunted where they fly into a baited field and are hunted mostly by stationary hunters at a fence row or field end. As far as how far the hunters are from the quail when they are flushed. You never know how low or high or which direction they will come out of the brush. Sometime they will fly right up into your face and you hardly get a shot off. Mostly they scatter fly.

@Seraphim727 I think you have quail confused with dove hunting.  Quail come into a field and most of the time the hunters are stationary along a fence row or field end. Quail are not much larger than your hand and fly and change direction in the air very quickly. You can drive them from their roost but most of the time they just come in a baited field late in the evening or early in the morning.

@MrFuckyoumannn Lewis Black isn’t talking about REAL hunting, he is talking about “hunting”. Where wealthy patrons pay money to get into a “hunting” ground. Then they are taken to where the quail who have had their wings clipped are, so that they can “hunt” them with bird shot. I think your problem is how the title doesn’t have quotation marks differentiating the two forms of hunting.

This ******* has obviously never hunted wild quail. They are super fast flyers and are a pain in the *** to hit. When they flush they go from 0-55 in a half a second and duck into cover as soon as they can. They also inhabit some damn rugged terrain that will challenge any athlete.
