Glad you found it. All you can do is learn from your hunts. This year was bad for me but I know I learned afew things this year. Nice job.

@drvmware Good for you, you are a rare hunter. Most hunters, even professional hunters can probably tell you times where they have shot deer and did not find them. I am not proud of it, it made me sick, but it happens. Where i hunt, if you only shoot deer at 25 yards during gun season you will never shoot a deer. I shot 2 does this week, 1 ran 10 yards and the other dropped. Wish i was as good as you tho

I like how you say “if it was one of those deer”. How many pathetic shots do you take? Learn to shoot, learn to kill them. Or are you using a 22 with solid points?

I shoot them at about 25 yards with a 50 cal smokepole using hollow points. Even in rifle area/Season. They just drop. Don’t shoot if you can’t get a clean kill. You wounded a deer, no meat, no humane kill. I’d call it a pathetic hunt. Maybe a real hunter could have killed that nice buck and had a good hunt from it?

Nice deer for Michigan. You got lucky to at least find your horns, too bad you missed out on the meat, but still a great story!

@lsetaxi possibly, but those bottom front teeth were the only teeth he had. There were no teeth farther back

that deer is only 2 yearsntops the teeth are futher bak in its mouth.

congratz jon. im glad you found that nice buck. i **** losing deer especially a huge buck. ive had it happen before and it aint fun. again congratz and good luck in the future
