Back in 1959 the Gamo company was established and by 1961 they manufactured their first air rifle. Based in Spain, Gamo has become the largest European manufacturer in the air rifle industry. Today they have several options available including; rifles, pistols, optics, and ammunition on their product line. Each one of these are high powered and considered to be high end products. Most importantly, those who are trained properly can have the closest thing to a real gun as possible without all the negative side effects. It doesn’t matter if you’re using them for target practice or just for fun; Gamo continues to develop elite air rifles.

Another benefit to Gamo Air Rifles is the ammunition. All the ammo they sell works for their air guns and rifles. Some of their products include; Extreme CO2, Whisper, CSI Camo, Viper, Viper Express, Shadow, Big Cat, Hunter, CFX, and Delta Fox. They also have the P-23 combat, PT-80 laser, V-3 Chrome and many other pistols available.

The overall value is well worth it considering they offer better prices on most of their rifles out there today. Once you add in the features, quality, and cost you have yourself the perfect choice. Need a scope? Gamo can provide these as well along with various adjustment options and trigger adjustment options. These benefits allow you to set your rifle to your own specific resistance and sight requirements. Unfortunately some of the less expensive options for target practice won’t have this feature. In the end it’s about as close to a real rifle as you can get from an air powered one.

However, there are a couple of drawbacks revolving around the trigger and scope. Even though the trigger can be adjusted with a ***** it might have more resistance than you really wanted. This all depends on the type of guns and air rifles you’ve utilized in the past. The only problem some individuals have with the scope is it can be difficult to use and adjust. Overall though, most of the people who purchase Gamo Rifles are completely satisfied.

Every once in awhile you will read a review with someone complaining about the rifle’s noise. The truth is there is a little “pop” or “crack” here and there, but not nearly as loud as a typical gun. If you’re new to the gun world chances are you won’t be used to the noise in the beginning.

While all this sounds great it’s still important to remember the Gamo Air Rifles can be harmful. Sure it might not have bullets or require a permit, but at close range it can still be deadly or severely wound someone. These are not toys and even if you just plan to use them for target practice you should have some training beforehand. If you follow all the gun procedures present you will cut down the risk of injury. Things like pointing the gun at anyone and keeping the safety on with others around is not a smart thing to do. Just be safe and make sure the air rifle is never loaded when being stored. If you do the little things it can make a world of difference.

For most hunters their pre-season is focused around obtaining their chief piece of hunting equipment; a deer hunting rifle. Once this selection is made, then having the best hunting ammo available to fill the chamber is the next order of business. To help with the selection of the best ammunition for your new rifle, shotgun or muzzleloader; I have listed what I consider to be the best hunting ammo available in the following categories; centerfire ammo, slug ammo and muzzleloader ammo.

Centerfire Ammunition

• Federal Premium Vital Shok- Federal’s “Trophy Bonded Tip” possess a solid copper shank and exterior skiving on the bullet which facilitates the best possible expansion at any range. This bullet supplies bone crushing energy to the target every time. Federal Premium has expanded this line to include a 140-grain 7mm Rem. Magnum, 140-grain 7mm WSM and a 160-grain 7mm STW.
• Hornady Superformance- With many changes in the propellants used in their loads, Horandy prides itself on having higher velocity than its competitors. Hornady uses normal charge weights with other specialized powders to achieve these results. Superformance can be found in.243 Win., 6mmRem.,.257 Roberts, 25-06 Rem., 6.5 Creedmoor and.270 Rem.
• Winchester SuperX PowerMax- Winchester has perfected the protected hollow-point (PHP) jacketed bullet. The PowerMax is available in.243,.30-06,.300Win. Mag.,.300 WSM (my personal favorite), 7mm Rem. Mag and 7mm WSM.

Slug Ammunition

• Federal Fusion Shotgun Slugs- Federal continues the innovations and selections in their Fusion line of ammo. The latest loads leave the barrel between 1,450- 1,700 fps. New additions to this line in the 12-guage & 20-guage categories are a 3inch, 7/8 ounce sabot slug and a 2 3/4 inch, 7/8 ounce sabot slug.
• Remington AccuTip Sabot Slug- This line is topped with a PowerPort Tip. This tip helps to manage expansion from 5-200 yards. This slug is designed for 12-guage, fully rifled barrels only.

Muzzleloader Ammunition

• Powerbelt Platinum Series- Powerbelt continues to enhance to its Platinum Series by adding a new grain weight and plating process, both of which are meant to intensify *********** and accuracy. The latest installment in this series is a 300-grain,.50 caliber bullet.
• Hornady FPB- With.50 caliber projectiles available in either 300 or 350-grain; Hornady proudly boasts on its website that this ammunition is “one of the easiest loading muzzleloader projectiles on the market.” These projectiles also feature Hornady’s Flex Tip technology.

More information about these and any other ammunition can be found by visiting the manufacturer’s websites. Choosing the best performing hunting ammo will certainly help to increase your chances of success in the field.

Remington is one of the greatest companies in America. Since 1816, Remington has been a leader in firearms, ammunition, targets, and many, many more industries.

The legend is that Remington’s founder, Eliphalet Remington II, believed he could build a better gun than he could buy. Eliphalet then set out to accomplish this task at his father’s forge in New York. In the fall of 1816, Eliphalet entered a shooting match with his handmade flintlock rifle, and as they say, the rest is history. He only finished second, but his gun was a hit and Remington was born. The company was originally named E. Remington & Sons.

With a computer in every home across North America, the hunter has dozens of options to stave off his boredom in the off-season. Soon after packing up all their gear and storing it in the basement, hunters are anxious for the next season to start, but he can take advantage of some of the online hunting options now available.

Hunting games online offer the hunter a lot of options; he can hunt big game, such as bear or moose, or small game like rabbit and squirrel, and all the sizes in between! Duck hunting online can be a particularly fun undertaking because the hunter has so many options. He can choose a variety of different locations and landscapes to hunt, from different states, to different countries. He has the choice of his weapon and ammunition, and he can even choose and train his own bird dog.

Many of the games available are scored upon the number of ducks killed, and the time it takes to do it in. The games that offer a hunting dog also often award points based upon the dog’s obedience and performance. It’s also essential for the virtual hunter to take care of his dog as it will tire and begin to disobey if neglected. Some hunting games also allow the hunter to play alone or against other hunters.

While some may not think it, duck hunting games can also be shockingly realistic. Often the weather plays an important role in the hunt, and if it’s raining and thundering, the graphics and sound effects allow the hunter to feel like he’s right in the field, without getting wet! Snow and fog, and of course bright and sunny days are also common.

While virtual hunting may not be a substitute for the real thing, it certainly works to stave off a hunter’s boredom while he waits for the next season to roll around. It can also help to improve his game, as he develops better reaction times and his aim improves. Hunting games online are also a great option for kids; if you’re looking to find away to introduce your child to the sport of hunting, this is a fun way to familiarize them. The same also goes for newcomers to the sport; if you’re not sure if duck hunting is for you, try out a few of the games online to get a taste for the hunt.

I am looking for an affordable 12 gage pump shotgun for multiple uses; home defense and hunting deer and turkey. I want to use slugs for deer hunting but I know that slugs would not be a reasonable home defense ammunition. What should I look to purchase?
