One of the coolest and entertaining toys out in the market today is the Nerf Shotgun. The very first Nerf gun was called blast-a-ball which came out in the year 1989. Since then many models have come out and the cheapest in the market is called SECRET STRIKE AS-1, it offers a powerful blast in a stealth size which has air-powered blaster that sends the foam darts directly at your target up to 30 feet away.

However, the most popular Nerf gun is the LONGSHOT CS-6 which can blast more than three feet long, it can launch a foam arrow up to 35 feet. It has a targeting scope to aim at a target with accuracy. This also has a two quick-reload clips which holds 12 streamline darts.

The most awaited Nerf shotgun released this year is the BARREL BREAK IX-2, it is molded to work like a double barreled shotgun that can fire two darts at time or one per each half pull of a trigger and it weighs around eight pounds. This comes with 8 whistler dart; an ammo rail and the barrel break itself. The grip was designed perfectly and comfortably for an easy hold while aiming.

A dart-guard is also installed to prevent the dart form falling on the barrel before it is fired and it will open to give way for the dart once the barrel is flipped back. It can and will work with most of the Nerf add-ons. The price range for Nerf barrel break IX-2 is $20 -$22.

You can buy this at any local toy store, malls and different online stores. This will be the best Nerf shotgun for 2011 because of its unique features, durability and cool design. If you want the best quality toy gun go buy Nerf shotgun.

There are two types of archery equipment, horizontal and vertical bows. A crossbow is referred to as a horizontal bow since the bow string runs horizontally. Vertical bows include compound bows, recurve, traditional and long bows. If you are in the market for a new piece of bow hunting equipment and are thinking about a crossbow, here are a few things to consider.

1. With a hunting crossbow, the bow is cocked and held in the ready position. This gives the hunter the ability to use the bow more effectively. Because the crossbow is doing a lot more of the work for the hunter, you can spend your time focusing on the target and being ready to shoot. With a horizontal bow you would have to hold the bow drawn, held steady and aimed at the target; thus, requiring a lot more energy from the hunter.

2. A crossbow is especially good for someone who doesn’t have the time to devote to practicing. Because a vertical bow requires more energy and effort by the hunter, it also requires more practice. There is a higher probability of missing your target and practice is crucial in making sure that your skills are fresh and are ready for the new season. Every hunter should get out and practice before heading out on the first hunt of the season. However, a hunter using a crossbow can get away with fewer trips to the target range.

3. A vertical bow, including a compound bow, offers the benefit of a shorter cycle time. While hunting crossbows have the benefit of requiring less time and energy from a hunter, a longer cycle time is one of its drawbacks. This means that you will typically only get one shot off when hunting. By the time you would re-cock the crossbow and get the arrow loaded, the deer would be long gone. With a vertical bow you have a chance of getting a second shot off.

4. A crossbow is typically fairly heavy and because of the horizontal design it is not a great fit for the hunter who wants to stalk his prey. A crossbow is better suited for a hunter who is going to use a tree stand or a ground blind.

5. A crossbow can be a good choice for a hunter who no longer can use a compound bow. This can include physical injuries or limitations that may make the compound bow too difficult. The crossbow can allow many hunters to continue the sport they love.

Vertical and horizontal bows are both viable options for a hunter and which one you choose is really just personal preference. If you opt for the hunting crossbow, you are sure to enjoy the power and efficiency that this piece of equipment provides.

For those of you unfamiliar with the sport, bow hunting is the practice of killing game animals such as birds and deer by archery. If you are interested in going hunting, there are a few things you should be aware of before you start. Your bow should have a draw weight of at least 50 pounds, and your arrow should be at least 900 grains. You also should become aware of what hunting restrictions are in place and when the season starts. If you are beginner it is best to get some experience shooting before you scout the woods or fields for prey. After you become confident in your abilities, it is time to put them to the test. Here a few tips to help you out.

Proper preparation is vital when bow hunting. When you practice archery, wear clothes similar to the ones you will be wearing when you go hunting. Wearing your gear or a heavy coat or sweatshirt will allow you to get a feel for having something on your arms. When hunting, it is recommended you use a compound bow, composite bow, or cross bow. Regardless of what bow you use, it is important to practice. If you are a beginner, it is important to become acquainted with your bow. Practice constantly and try to shoot from different angles and positions. The more comfortable you are with your bow, the better chance you have at successfully capturing your prey. In addition to wearing the right clothes and becoming acquainted with your bow, it is important you know how far you can shoot. If the farthest you can shoot is 50 feet, then it seems silly to aim for a target at 70 feet.

Positioning is very important when it comes to bow hunting. If you are upwind you probably won’t see any prey because they’ll have smelled you. If you stay downwind you are more likely to see more animals, but you will have to stalk them. This could be tricky, especially if you haven’t mastered the art of being quiet. This is why many hunters let their prey come to them. If you do use this method, it is important to remain still and quiet. If you alarm the animal then you will not be able to shoot it.

There is no guarantee of success when hunting. Some days the climate can affect your shot. Other times the animals don’t want to cooperate with you. Although these tips do not guarantee success, they can give you an edge while bow hunting. The better prepared you are for the field or woods, the better the odds are of successfully shooting your prey. Good luck.

While some hunters prefer to go au’naturale when it comes to hunting, many choose to get some extra help from a bow sight to gain accuracy. Having accurate aim can make all the difference between a clean kill, and watching the animal dart way. Many bow hunting competitions now allow the use of sights, and overall, they work to greatly enhance a hunter’s aim.

There are many different types of bow sights on the market. Choosing which is right for you will depend on how you plan to use the sight, and your own personal preference. For instance, using a high priced target sight will be of no use to the ordinary hunter. The expert at your local archery store will be able to explain all the different uses for different sights.

Most people shoot instinctively, which means they aim and shoot, but accuracy often doesn’t come until there is much practice under a hunter’s belt. Most hunter’s don’t have the time to devote to the amount of practice required, so a sight becomes a great tool. Due to the arc of the arrow, it is necessary to aim upwards to increase the arc, thereby increasing the distance of the arrow. The common bow hunting sight will give you multiple aiming points to shoot different distances; most are color coded to make aiming easier. The hunter only sights with the correct point to find the approximate distance he’s aiming for.

Though this type of sight is the most common, bow sights are catching up with technology. The newest type available is a fiber optic hunting sight. These sights pull in light, creating a point of light to aim for; the longer the fiber, the brighter the point. There are also sights that fit into a protective pin guard, some coming from the side, and some from the bottom of the guard. It is generally believed that greater accuracy is achieved with bottom mounted pins. There are also movable sights that are adjusted according to the distance of the target.

Pendulum sights are another type available often used for tree stand hunting. As with any sight, there are sights of this sort of high quality, and some of not so high quality. Be sure to research before you make any sight purchase to ensure good quality and the sight that is right for you.

Bowhunting is a sport that has really emerged and become popular in just the last 60 years or so. Many sportsmen enjoy bowhunting because it is far more challenging than simply taking a rifle out and shooting an animal at 100 yards or more distance. Here are some bowhunting tips that may improve the experience for beginners.

Choose the bow that is right for you. Bows come in different styles. Longbows have been in use since the dawn of time. Recurve and composite recurve bows were invented in the mid twentieth century. These do not have the effective range of a longbow, but within their range, they are more accurate and more powerful. Compound bows, the latest advance in bow making, use pulleys and cams to both multiply the force exerted on the arrow when the string is released and to provide a let off of tension when the bow is drawn to its full length that aids the hunter in aiming because he can hold the bow in firing position longer if necessary.

Choose arrows that are right for your bow. Different bows have different draw lengths. It is important to choose arrows that are of a length that closely matches the draw length of the bow. Too long and the arrows will tend to drop off too soon after being fired. Too short and the archer loses some of the power of the bow by not being able to draw it to its full length.

Know the requirements for arrowheads for the type of game you are planning to hunt. Many states have specific requirements for broad heads to be used when hunting big game such as deer, elk, or bear. The fines imposed for not using the right heads on the arrows are too expensive to by justified by not knowing the rules.

Practice with your bow and arrows frequently. It is impossible to put your bow away at the end of archery season and ignore it the rest of the year and hope to be able to hit where you aim with the first shot after an extended period. Practicing during the off season assures that if you are presented with an opportunity, you will be able to make a clean kill.

Spend some time in the woods where you plan to hunt all through the year. If you only scout the areas right before the beginning of season and decide where to put a stand, you miss out on several opportunities to practice your stalking skills. These are essential to the bow hunter because the effective range of the bow is normally not over 60 yards. Optimal range is within 30 yards.

Purchase some scent neutralizers for your clothing and your body. The sense of smell possessed by almost any animal that is hunted with archery equipment is hundreds of times more acute than a human’s. They also have better hearing and many have sharper sight. This makes it very difficult to stalk an animal without him becoming aware of your presence. Deer are actually allergic to the smell of humans. This is why they snort when the scent you. They are actually sneezing.

Learn how to judge the direction the wind is coming from and always hunt across the wind or upwind. Any animal downwind of you will know you are there long before you could hope to know their whereabouts. Work hard on all your outdoors skills in order to become good at stalking.

Bow hunting can be a progressive challenge for anyone who likes to go rifle hunting. Bow hunting can make you feel much more accomplished as a hunter as you’re using ancient technology. Not only that using a bow can also teach you some new skills that will help when you use your rifle again. You need certain skills to get anywhere near your target even if you hire a guide. Sudden movements or even just your scent can alert your prey to your presence and they’re not going to stay around for a chat! This adds a little more excitement to the hunt.

You can be successful with your bow hunting if you learn a few basic secrets:

If you are using a deer stand, you need to space out the time you use it. The more often you’re out there, the more the animals will get to know that you are there. They may even get to know your routine and avoid the area altogether. It’s important to get more than one stand and switch between the ones that you use.

You will need to waterproof your arrow fletches for hunting in the rain. Using hairspray will work, but make sure that it’s of the unscented variety. Use three or four light coats of hairspray on the fletches, make sure you allow each coat to fully dry before adding another coat.

You will need to try to mask any human scent possible. Perform this de-scenting before you get to the stand. You will need to observe which direction the wind is blowing in. Animals can easily pick up your scent from a long way away. You don’t want the wind blowing the scent in their direction. If the stand you are using is not well suited to the wind direction, then go and get to another one. Remember, animals are designed to sniff out scents and use this as part of their early warning system.

When elk and deer are out of season, you can still practice all aspects of your bow hunting skills. When out of season you must also regularly maintain and check your equipment so that you’re ready for the season to start.

Both elk, and deer have a habit of cramming that last bit of feeding in before the winter hits. This extra feeding will result in more activity than usual. Watch the weather carefully for any snow or rain storms, this would cause the temperature to change. Animals notice these changes in temperature and act accordingly. If a major storm is forecast then ideally you want to hunt before or after for better results.

Cold weather will make hunting with a bow more of a challenge, in winter your draw back will be much more difficult. You will need to drop the draw weight by a few pounds if you plan hunting in really cold temperatures.

You can have a really exciting time when you go bow hunting.
