Deer Hunt – www.HUNTNGFOOTAGE.COM I saw this buck briefly 2 years ago. Back then he was a 10pt and I thought he was 4yrs old. Today I was sitting in the same box blind overlooking an oat patch and a road. The buck showed up, I turned on the camera, realized he was a BIG 8pt and decided to take him. I grabbed for my rifle as he was walking out of the frame, got a good rest, re-focused the camera, and took the shot. This all happened in about 1 minute’s time! I would have been in a bow blind, but it was bitter cold, windy, and raining. Thanks to the storm, I went to the blind with my rifle to scout and look for a doe. Sometimes, decisions are made for a reason! deer hunting deer hunting deer hunting deer hunting

If you ask a guy why they deer hunt chances are you will get different answers. Some will answer that they hunt for sport and others will say they hunt for the food. You may get other answers but those are the two main answers that is going to be discussed. Some hunters hunt with a bow and others hunt with a shotgun. Either way the results are the same, meat on the table.

When deer hunting for sport a hunters goal is to try to get the buck with the biggest rack. Most that hunt for sport will tell you that the pure enjoyment of being in the outdoors is a thrill. Even if the goal is hunting for sport, those hunters bring home a lot of meat for their family table. When a hunter gets a nice looking rack a lot of times the hunter will take it to a taxidermist and get it mounted for his home wall. Some hunters even have their own trophy room.

Hunting for the reason of providing food for the family table may seem caveman but a lot of hunters do it. Hunting is not just for men. A lot of women do it too. Whomever is providing the meat for the table can find the taste of venison as a delicious meal. Venison is much like beef, except with a more wild taste. There is thousands of venison recipes. One big difference between beef and venison is that venison is not corn fed and has much less fat on it.

So regardless of why a hunter hunts the result is good meat on the table, a cheaper way to fill the freezer, and a less populated forest. Hunting seasons differ depending where you live. It’s worth checking into and seeing what you need to do to be the next big deer hunter.

By: Brad Huber

About the Author:

As a deer hunting beginner, you will want to plan for your hunt about a year in advance. This will give you plenty of time to locate your hunting area, learn some woodcraft, get to know your weapon and learn how to deer hunt.

Step 1: Find a Place to Hunt

If you already live in the country and have your own piece of hunting land, then this will be an easy step for you If you don’t own any land, the second best thing is befriending someone who does.

If you have any farming friends or co-workers that have access to private land, you can probably talk them into letting you hunt on their property. It might take some work to wrangle access to private land, but learning how to hunt deer will be easier and probably more enjoyable on private land.

If access to private land eludes you, you can still find a good place to hunt by researching public hunting land. Call your local office of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and let them know you’re a beginner looking for a good deer hunting areas in your county. They will let you know what public land is available and point you to the correct resources.

Step 2: Get some Good Maps

Go to your local outdoor store and get some topographic quadrangle maps of the areas you choose to hunt. Buy a compass and learn to use both of them. Don’t go very far into the woods until you are comfortable reading and using your map and compass.

When you feel ready, go scout the areas you plan to hunt. Scout during different seasons, wear blaze orange if hunting season is on. Mark any deer sign you find, water and food sources, and deer routes you notice on your map. Scout as often as you can, this will put you ahead of the crowd when your season rolls around.

Step 3: Decide on a Weapon

You need to decide whether you will be hunting with a rifle or a bow. In either case, you will need to visit a hunting outfitter or gun shop to be fitted for your weapon. Get to know it well and always follow safety procedures. Do not go into the woods with your weapon until you have mastered an adequate level of accuracy, for your sake and that of everything else in the forest.

You may want to purchase some camouflage clothing and comfortable boots. I would recommend a blaze orange based pattern, especially if you will be hunting public land.

Step 4: Get all Your Paperwork in Order

Take your hunter education class. Purchase your hunting license and tags. Learn the rules and regulations in your area and stay on the right side of the law.

Step 5: Go Hunting

As a beginner, the best strategy for you is to learn to sit quietly and observe. Set yourself up in a tree stand or on the ground with your back against a tree. Make sure the wind is in your face, and that you can oversee an promising area from your earlier scouting.

The more you learn, the more fun you have. Happy hunting!

By: Nick Moran

About the Author:

This is Michael’s first bear hunt, he killed a nice bear at just 10 years old! He used his youth .243 with bullets he loaded himself to kill this great black bear. The bear came in to 25 yards and the kid split his heart with the first shot. This kid was as steady as a rock even as the bear charged at our tree that our stand was just 4 feet up. Michael cranked out two more rounds while the bear charged and the bear fell dead 10 yards past the base of our tree and only had the one hartshot hole in him. Thanks for watching, Michael made this video himself. Please leave a comment for the kid.
