Hunting Fun

Another short clip from 2009 season. There was very little to no wind around and Jack wasn’t to sure exactly where the bird was. We didnt peg his rope down and he ended up chasing the bird again, and was very close to the line of fire when i shot it. Definately have to stop him chasing!

Stubble quail hunting in Victoria, Australia during 2009 season with my english pointer, Jack. Its Jack’s first season and is holding point fairly well but breaks once the bird is flushed. I normally put a long rope on his collar that he drags around so when on point i can peg the rope to the ground to stop him chasing and getting in the way. Occasionally retrieves but usually just finds the bird, picks it up for a few seconds and drops it again. 2 quail flushed here and both dropped with the 12ga. Sorry about crap video quality. Its filmed on a normal digital camera on video mode.

George shooting again during the 2009 Victorian stubble quail season. Just on dusk and was a really nice day to be out for a hunt. It was the last outing we had for the season. Already counting down till next year, and plan on lots of training between to stop Jack chasing birds.
